01 — About Us

We exist to glorify God,
grow in faith,
and serve our community.

Faith is not a Sunday-morning event — it is a daily walk that shapes how we love our neighbours and serve our city.

Macedonia Baptist Church has gathered on Highway 150 in Lincolnton since 1870. For more than a century and a half, families, individuals, and generations have come through these doors seeking worship, community, and purpose in Lincoln County, NC.

We are a congregation committed to deep Biblical teaching, genuine fellowship, and active service. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Randy Setzer, Macedonia is a place where the Word is preached without compromise — and where everyone who walks in is genuinely welcomed.

A word from the pastor

I want everyone who walks through our doors to feel they have found a home.

Macedonia Baptist Church is a place of belonging — where the Word of God is preached plainly, where families are equipped, and where no one needs to pretend. Come as you are.

Dr. Randy Setzer has served as Senior Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church since July 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Piedmont Baptist College, a Master of Arts in Church Ministry, and a Doctor of Ministry in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary.

Randy and his wife Denise have two adult children, a granddaughter, and two grandsons. His ministry is rooted in a conviction that clear Biblical teaching — practically applied — changes families and communities from the inside out.

04 — In Their Words

What our congregation
would want you to know.

We visited Macedonia for the first time not knowing what to expect. Within two Sundays, our family felt completely at home. The preaching is clear, the people are genuine, and our children love Team Kid.

Dr. Setzer preaches the Word without compromise — and he lives what he preaches. This is a church that still believes the Bible means what it says. That is hard to find.

The Wednesday night AWANA program has been transformational for our children. They are memorising scripture, building friendships, and growing in their faith in ways we could not have imagined.

C.A.R.E. Night changed how I think about a church's role in the community. This congregation does not just talk about serving — they show up, month after month, for their neighbours.
